Name

“La Parola Vera” (Italian for “The True Word”) is a name that could sound boring to some, provocative to others. Starting by looking at the article “The”, the emphasis goes to the unique message that follows: “True Word”. In the Bible Jesus is presented as The Word who became flesh and The Word by which the world was created. A Christian who recognizes the authority of Scriptures cannot think of Jesus as “a” truth, “a” word or “a” way. In the same Bible, Jesus is presented as The Way, The Truth and The Life. He was sent to convey God’s Word to the people.

We live in a confuse world which presents many truths and alternatives. Pilate asked Jesus “What is truth?”; Pilate’s question is today the question of many. Nowadays it works like this: the news on tv gives a version of a certain news, the socials give another version, then on a blog we are presented a very appealing conspiracy theory about the same news… and we are there, asking ourselves what is the truth. This happens for many important areas of life. Jesus declares that he is The Truth, The Word that never changes, The Word not influenced by emotions, the True Word. By believing in his words and by making them personal, his message will give stability and firmness to the believer’s life.

Principles

La Parola Vera is based on 3 principles:

  1. The Intercultural Word. LPV wants to pursue the culture of the Kingdom of God; not a national culture nor a traditional one; not a religious culture, nor a sexist or a colored one. The Bible tells us that there are no discriminations in Christ.
  2. The Spiritual Word. LPV takes seriously people’ spiritual growth. It happens often that many go to church for habit or to keep their consciousness at peace. The Bible tells us that lukewarmness will get people vomited from God’s mouth. In Christian life, satisfaction and blessings are there where there is spiritual growth.
  3. The Social Word. LPV wants to help the needy. The Bible teaches us that when a person has a practical need it needs to be helped with actions. Through an active collaboration with 'La Finestra del Sole' – poverty department, La Parola Vera offers to help, according to their possibilities, the needy in the surrounding area.
